Another organization has recently approached City Hall with plans to replace us at our three gambling sites.

If this happens, the fees for BPYHA will increase significantly.

This issue was originally on the City Council agenda for Monday, November 20, at 7:00 PM.  At that meeting,  the Council will table our gambling site issue and will not hear comment on it.  The issue will be on the agenda again in December or January.  Please join us at that Council meeting wearing your Pirate gear and help support us.  We need to let the City and community know how much we rely on our gambling proceeds to keep our costs down.  We cannot afford to lose our gambling operations!

If you are not able to attend the meeting, you may send an email or mail a letter to the Council.  Click here for contact information for Council members.

Park Cup Stays in Brooklyn Park....Again
Congratulations to all BPYHA players on the success of keeping the Park Cup in Brooklyn Park!  It has been here for 10 years (it's always been here)!  This year, our association record in the Park Cup was 7-4-1.  You all played terrific hockey and made us proud.  What awesome hockey players we have!

North Metro Stars Calendar

North Metro Stars (Park Center & Tri City) Alumni Game
The annual North Metro Stars (Park Center & Tri City) boy's hockey alumni game is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 24 at 8:30 PM at the BPCAC.  The cost is $5 for adults and $2 for students.  As in the past, BPYHA players who wear their team jersey get in free.  This is a really fun event to watch!

Skate Guards Needed
If you love to skate, have fun, and get paid for it, we have an opportunity for you.  The City of Brooklyn Park is looking for seasonal Public Open Skate Ice Guards.  The guard is responsible to ensure a safe and orderly public skating session. Ice guards will be scheduled during the weekend and possible on no-school days.  Applicants must be at least 16 years old.  Applications are available at the community center or contact Mary Pat Black at 763-493-8344.

Wireless Network Comes to the CAC
A wireless network has been installed at the Community Center.  It works in the warm area and rink 2, but not in rink 1.  If your laptop has wireless capabilities, you can now work while the kids play hockey!

Community Center Safety
Please do not leave any valuables in your vehicle while at the Community Center.  If you have any issues in the parking lot, be sure to contact both the police and the front desk at the CAC.
